Weight Loss

Have a few pounds to lose?

Obesity remains a significant public health challenge in the United States, affecting over 40% of adults and contributing to a wide range of serious health conditions, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, and certain cancers. Defined as a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater, obesity is influenced by a combination of lifestyle, dietary, socioeconomic, and genetic factors and is associated with reduced quality of life, shortened life expectancy, and substantial healthcare costs. Medical weight loss programs provide structured support and clinical oversight, utilizing various therapeutic tools to assist patients in achieving their goals; however, these interventions are most effective when used as part of a long-term lifestyle strategy rather than viewed as standalone solutions.

There are various approaches to weight loss including hormones, diet, exercise, and peptide therapies (GLP-1).   GLP-1 peptides, derived from natural proteins or synthesized in controlled laboratory settings, work by mimicking or modulating key hormones and neurotransmitters involved in satiety, metabolic rate, and lipid utilization. When combined with a comprehensive strategy that includes hormone optimization, outcomes can be significantly enhanced, as imbalances in hormones such as insulin, thyroid hormones, cortisol, estrogen, and testosterone often play a central role in weight gain and resistance to fat loss. By addressing these hormonal factors alongside peptide-based therapies, individuals may experience improved metabolic efficiency, better energy levels, preservation of lean muscle mass, and more sustainable fat loss.

All of our weight loss strategies are customized for you as an individual and will work with goal setting to ensure progress can be not only actualized but maintained.

What are my options?

While not an exhaustive list, below lists some common options to consider.  In addition to considering these options, it should be advised that having a hormone consultation first would likely yield more optimal results than considering one of these options by themselves, this even includes the thyroid.  Diet and exercise are also pillars to successful outcomes.

GLP1's

GLP-1 receptor agonists, along with GIP and glucagon receptor agonists, offer significant benefits in managing metabolic disorders. GLP-1 agonists help regulate blood sugar levels by enhancing insulin secretion, suppressing glucagon release, and slowing gastric emptying, which also aids in weight loss. GIP receptor agonists complement these effects by improving insulin sensitivity and promoting fat metabolism. Meanwhile, glucagon receptor agonists contribute to increased energy expenditure and may support weight management and metabolic health. Together, these therapies provide a multifaceted approach to treating conditions like type 2 diabetes and obesity.

MOTS-C

Mitochondrial-derived peptide (Mots-c) is a novel intervention for weight loss that targets cellular metabolism and energy balance. Mots-c regulates mitochondrial function, promoting increased energy expenditure and fat oxidation while improving insulin sensitivity. By enhancing cellular metabolism, Mots-c can help individuals achieve sustainable weight loss and metabolic health improvements. Its mechanism of action underscores the importance of mitochondrial function in regulating body weight and offers a promising avenue for therapeutic interventions.

Growth hormone releasing peptides

Growth hormone releasing peptides (GHRPs) stimulate the secretion of growth hormone from the pituitary gland, which plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism, fat metabolism, and muscle growth. GHRPs have been investigated for their potential to promote weight loss by increasing energy expenditure, reducing fat mass, and preserving lean muscle mass. These peptides offer a targeted approach to addressing metabolic imbalances and may be beneficial for individuals with growth hormone deficiencies or obesity-related complications.

Tesofenisine

Tesofenisine is a pharmacological agent with dual activity on noradrenaline and serotonin reuptake, making it a promising candidate for weight loss interventions. By modulating neurotransmitter activity, tesofenisine regulates appetite, reduces food intake, and enhances thermogenesis, leading to significant weight loss. Its unique mechanism of action distinguishes it from traditional weight loss medications and offers potential benefits for individuals struggling with obesity and metabolic syndrome.

AOD-9604

AOD-9604 is a peptide derived from growth hormone that targets fat metabolism by stimulating lipolysis, the breakdown of fat cells. It works by enhancing the breakdown of stored fats while inhibiting the accumulation of new fat cells, leading to reductions in body fat mass. AOD-9604's ability to promote fat loss without affecting lean muscle mass makes it an attractive option for individuals seeking effective weight management strategies with minimal side effects.

Topical aminophylline/glycyrrhetinic acid

Topical aminophylline combined with glycyrrhetinic acid offers a localized approach to weight loss by targeting subcutaneous fat tissue. Aminophylline, a bronchodilator, stimulates lipolysis, while glycyrrhetinic acid inhibits the activity of an enzyme involved in fat cell formation. This combination enhances fat burning and reduces the appearance of cellulite, making it a popular choice for topical fat reduction treatments. Its localized action minimizes systemic side effects, offering a safe and effective option for enhancing body contouring and reducing stubborn fat deposits. This is a great option for targeted areas such as belly fat.
